Georgian pensioners to receive subsistence allowance

The Georgian government will pay a subsistence allowance to single pensioners, who a few months ago were left out of the program of the evaluation of socially disadvantaged people, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said.

Today, there are 377.9 thousand socially vulnerable persons in Georgia (10.1% of the total population). This status is given to those citizens who are gaining the necessary points of the evaluation criteria of well-being.

"The methodology for assessment hasn't been improved since 2012, and the Ministry of Health is working continuously to improve it," Sputnik Georgia cited Garibashvili as saying.

The Prime Minister promised that single pensioners will also receive compensation for the missing months.
