By the order of the Interior Minister, Giorgi Mgebrishvili, on March 23-26 Georgian police carried out a large-scale inspection across the country, during which they managed to find two persons who were wanted. In addition, 59 and 148 people were arrested for criminal and administrative offenses respectively.
During the inspection, 192 criminal offenses were detected, including 67 cases of illegal acquisition, storage and carrying of firearms, 29 cases of acquisition and storage of drugs, 8 cases of illegal importation of drugs, 2 instances of robbery.
The Interior Ministry noted that these were only ordinary inspections, allowed by the law, Sputnik Georgia reports.
