The Georgian presidential administration will undergo a staff restructuring, which will cut the number of employees within the body to 60 from 102, Georgian president Salome Zurabishvili’s spokesperson Khatia Moistsrapishvili said.
During the first stage, which will begin on 15 January, vacancies will be announced for all positions within the presidential administration for all current employees.
According to the spokesperson, during the second stage of the process those who meet the necessary criteria and have higher qualifications will be re-employed at the presidential administration, while others will be offered jobs at other state institutions.
Moistsrapishvili explained that the number of staff must be decreased per the new Georgian constitution. "The total number of the president’s staff must be 60," Agenda.ge cited her as saying.
Moistsrapishvili added that the Public Service Bureau of Georgia will try to find jobs at state bodies and agencies for those who will have to leave the presidential administration.
Should individuals refuse offers, they will receive compensation worth three months of their salaries at the presidential administration.
