Imports of dairy products to Georgia rose by almost a third - from January to May, 1,650 tons of cheese and cottage cheese were delivered for $7,2 million, Trend reports citing Novosti-Georgia.
Georgia's main suppliers were Germany ($1,4 million, 296 tons), Russia ($1,1 million, 373 tons) and Turkey ($948 thousand, 258 tons). Products also come from the Netherlands ($710 thousand, 137 tons) and Poland ($605 thousand, 118 tons).
It is worth noting that Georgia sent abroad 61 tons of cheese and cottage cheese for $426,000.
