Germany can impose sanctions against Poland. This was stated by the head of the ruling CDU/CSU (Christian Democratic Union/Christian Social Union), Volker Kauder.
"If we see a breach of European values, the member states of the EU should have courage to impose sanctions,’’ Gazeta.ru quotes him as saying.
Earlier in Poland a law on the media was adopted, allowing the government to directly appoint the heads of the public broadcasters. In addition, the Polish authorities changed the decision-making procedure in the Constitutional Tribunal, which, according to the opposition, will block its work.
