Germany’s Finance Minister Christian Lindner said he’ll be “inviting all members of the EU to support the idea of an oil price cap.”
Speaking before an informal meeting of European Union finance chiefs in Prague, he said, “we want to avoid higher revenues for Russia” via that price limit.
The Group of Seven last week announced plans to implement a price cap for global purchases of Russian oil - a measure it hopes will ease energy market pressures and slash Moscow’s overall revenues.
