The Tbilisi City Court today quashed a decision on the use of bail as a preventive measure against the former mayor of Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava in the case of embezzlement of funds from the Tbilisi Development Fund, the lawyer of ex-governor Beka Basilaia reported.
"In the case of the Development Fund of Tbilisi against Gigi Ugulava, bail has been pledged to ensure that it was used by real estate, which was confiscated. Today on the basis of our petition the court annulled the pledge of Gigi and withdrew the confiscation of real estate. The next trial is scheduled for March 1st,’’ News-Georgia quotes Ugulava's lawyer.
