Giorgi Gakharia: The man said in the very first minutes of his freedom that he would overthrow, they will not succeed

The man said in the very first minutes of his freedom that he would overthrow. He did not say he would replace, he said he would overthrow, - Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia told reporters, when commenting on the statements made after the release of former Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili, InterPressNews reports.

As the Prime Minister noted, he did not want to talk about the mentioned issue today, but he said that it was once again confirmed that the National Movement was the past.

"We need to think about tomorrow and work hard to make this country a country of opportunities for young people, not a country of challenges.

The man said in the very first minutes of his freedom that he would overthrow. He did not say he would finish, or replace, he said he would overthrow. Let’s agree that we are oriented to the future. They’ve had attempts to overthrow several times, but they have never succeeded and will never succeed. Our goal is to build strong Georgia, a country of opportunities, not a country of coups, overthrowing or the calamities we have left in the past," Gakharia said.

Former Minister of Internal Affairs Vano Merabishvili left the so-called Matrosov prison after 7 years of imprisonment. Merabishvili was arrested in May 2013. He had been serving sentence for several cases, including a brutal dispersal of an opposition rally on May 26, 2011, the murder case of Sandro Girgvliani and the physical abuse of the opposition MP Valeri Gelashvili.

Merabishvili may face further charges for the raid in Imedi TV in 2007 and the dispersal of another rally on November 7, 2007.
