In the near future, strengthening of the lari is expected in Georgia. Georgian Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri stated that in the short term, he expects stabilization of exchange rate of the lari, and then strengthening of the national currency.
"You can see that there is the strengthening of local currencies in countries of the region, fluctuations in oil prices are not so huge now. The state budget also does not put pressure on the lari exchange rate," Khaduri said, noting that the lari is not isolated from regional processes of strengthening of the currencies, APA reports.
