Today in Moscow, in the pavilion 75 of VDNKH, citywide events dedicated to the spring holiday Novruz officially started. Their opening was attended by representatives of 20 different nationalities and states.

As Iran's Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanai stated in an interview with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza, among other things, Novruz - is also the first day of the year in Iranian calendar. "Happy New Year, happy Novruz! Novruz - is a holiday gathering and celebration of spring, and the Iranian official chronology begins from this day. For several thousand years, Novruz is celebrated on Iranian territory. Spring begins precisely today, with Novruz, and I hope that this year will be good for all peoples of the region - for Russian people, and peoples of the Caucasus, Central Asia and Iran," Mehdi Sanai said, wishing a peaceful year for residents of the East.

While opening Novruz in the Russian capital, the head of the department of national policy, regional relations and tourism of Moscow, Vladimir Chernikov, congratulated all the participants with the beginning of spring. "Dear ladies and gentlemen, extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors, dear Muscovites, dear guests of the capital, all of you, my dear friends, wecome! Welcome VDNKh! Welcome magnificent platform that welcomes everyone for the second time in its history on a remarkable holiday of Novruz. Novruz has returned to VDNKh!," he said.

"The purpose of the holiday is simple - to give us all understanding and feeling that we are the people of one beautiful city, one great country, one prosperous world, called planet Earth. We should all be responsible for ensuring that this world would be as kind, as purer as possible, so that we were as closely as possible to each other, preserved and valued those moments of happiness when we are together in joy. Happy holiday, dear friends!," he said to the participants of the holiday at VDNKh.

Azerbaijani ambassador to Russia, Polad Bulbuloglu, as the head of ambassadors corps of CIS, has expressed gratitude to the organizers of the holiday. "Novruz is a holiday, celebrated since the time of Avesta. Novruz is a holiday of spring, holiday of purity, holiday of love, holiday of youth. On this day, spring comes to the earth, flowers begin to bloom, trees begin to blossom, new feelings erupt. You know that for our nations, Novruz Bayram is a celebration of reconciliation, holiday of purity. I want to sincerely congratulate all Muscovites on this holiday. Moscow has always been an international city, multi-lingual and multi-religious, and it continues the traditions of a wonderful holiday of Novruz. Thanks to Moscow, thank you all, thank you for coming. Happy holiday!" he congratulated Muscovites on Nowruz.
