British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss believes that in order to reduce dependence on Russian gas, it is necessary to build more nuclear power plants and produce more small modular reactors. She made a relevant statement during the pre-election televised debates of candidates for the post of prime minister.
"We must build more nuclear power plants, and we must also produce more small modular reactors," RIA Novosti quotes her as saying.
The head of the Foreign Ministry also noted that gas should be considered as a transitional fuel.
