The authorities of Alma-Ata are planning to remove signs from city streets prohibiting movement on motorcycles, the public association Live 2 Ride reported with reference to a letter from the Deputy Akim (Mayor) of the city, the site ‘Wheels’ writes.
Recall that in 1978-1979 in the central streets of the city there were signs prohibiting motorcycles. Since 2005 the city authorities have extended the restricted area for bikers. It should be noted that this policy was based on the belief that motorcycles pollute the environment more than other vehicles.
