The Islamic Republic of Iran has never tried to create nuclear weapons, warheads or missiles which could contain them, Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan stated, noting that "all of our ballistic missiles perform a defensive function and they are just conventional arms.''
In an interview with TV channel Russia-24, he added that Iran always stuck to the defensive position. "We've always told the international community that we would not move in the direction of special weapons. The defensive doctrine of Iran excludes the possibility of aggression against other countries. We believe that improving our defense will lead to stability in the region. We have never shown aggression or threatened anyone and we will never do this," Hossein Dehghan said.
