Hungary wants to produce gas in Kazakhstan

Budapest plans to produce gas in Kazakhstan, if the republic's authorities allow it, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said.

"Next year, if we receive approval from the Kazakhstan's government, we will be able to start gas production", Sputnik Kazakhstan quotes him.

He noted that in case of a successful deal, the Kazakh side will cooperate with the largest Hungarian oil and gas company MOL.

"They have built this technology that can produce natural gas. All strategic decisions have been made in order to start producing gas in 2023", Szijjártó added.
