The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Fatou Bensouda, requests judges for authorization to open an investigation into the situation in South Ossetia in 2008.
She believes that war crimes and crimes against humanity were committed during the course of the fighting. The Prosecutor requested to proceed with an investigation for the period from 1 July to 10 October 2008, TASS reports.
