President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, speaking at the Nuclear Security Summit, drew attention to the problem of the unsettled Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The President stressed that the Azerbaijani national system of exports has shown itself to be a reliable protection mechanism against the smuggling of nuclear materials, but ‘because of the inability to control the whole of our territory, we cannot fully implement the program," he said.
The problem exists due to the occupation of the Azerbaijani territories and borders, through which this smuggling may be executed uncontrolled. "The UN Security Council adopted four resolutions demanding the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from our occupied territories, but those resolutions remain on paper, I repeat, these resolutions demand the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from our territories, however, the occupation of our land has been going on for more than 20 years,’’ Trend quotes Aliyev as saying.
