President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva have visited Ismayilli district yesterday, according to the presidential press service.
Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva laid flowers at a statue of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the center of the city of Ismayilli.
Head of Ismayilli District Executive Authority Nahid Baghirov informed the head of state and the First Lady of the landscaping and construction works carried out in the district.
They also visited the village of Lahij during their visit to Ismayilli. The head of state and the first lady walked around the village and talked with residents, got acquainted with the repair and restoration work in the Badoyun mosque in Lahij. Holy Quran was presented to President Aliyev. Residents of Lahij presented Mehriban Aliyeva with Basgal kelagai.
A new building for the secondary school No 6 named after Natig Behdiyev has been inaugurated in the city of Ismayilli. Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony.
The President of Azerbaijan has also attended the opening of the Basgal-Sulut highway, which begins on the 17th km of the Mughanli-Ismayilli highway, in Ismayilli district.
