President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Victorious Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva have visited the liberated from occupation the city of Aghdam, Trend reports.
During the visit, the President raised the flag of Azerbaijan over the liberated city.
In Aghdam, Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva visited a mosque. According to Islamic tradition, the floor in the mosque is covered with woolen carpets, and you have to walk on it without shoes. The mosque in Aghdam, as can be seen, was brought to a dilapidated state during the years of occupation, and this time the liberated native land served as a carpet: both the president and the first vice-president walked on it taking off their shoes out of respect for the memory of the martyrs and the Almighty.
