Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree awarding the Russian film director Nikita Mikhalkov with the Order of Friendship (Dostluq).
Mikhalkov was awarded for his merits in the development of cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Russia.
Aliyev also sent his congratulations to Nikita Mikhalkov. "I hope your fruitful dialogue with young cinematographers of Azerbaijan, which started this spring, will contribute to the further development of Azerbaijani-Russian cultural relations," he said.
