President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the results of socio-economic development in the first half of 2015 and objectives for the future.
According to the president, the price of medicines will soon be regulated and transparency will be ensured in this field.
The President also said that an additional 200 million AZN from the state budget will be allocated for the Azerbaijan Mortgage Fund.
He also ordered the prices of air tickets to be reduced in the country. "AZAL has a high level of services, I welcome this. However, Azerbaijan does not buy fuel abroad, but makes it. So why are tickets so expensive? AZAL receives large subsidies from the state. All aircraft are purchased by the state budget, airports are being built by the state, all the conditions created by the state. In this case, why do airline tickets in comparison with other countries have to be so expensive?" Ilham Aliyev asked.
