Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has met in Baku with the World Bank's newly-appointed Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, Cyril Muller.
The head of state emphasized the necessity of reducing the economy`s dependence on oil, noting that the non-oil sector now accounts for 70% of the Gross Domestic Product.
Ilham Aliyev said that the energy sector accounts for 90% of exports, linking this to the fact that the non-oil sector output was targeted at the domestic market.
The President stressed that export-oriented production would be a priority at the next stage.
