Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has received the Rector of Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Anatoly Torkunov.
Torkunov said his every visit to Baku, in particular his participation in the 5th Baku International Humanitarian Forum, which brings together numerous outstanding figures, was a remarkable event for him. Touching upon President Ilham Aliyev's speech at the Forum, he said the head of state's remarks were important and paved the way for more interesting discussions.
He expressed his confidence that discussions to be held at round tables and plenary sessions of the Forum will be fruitful. Anatoly Torkunov said Russian representatives had great interest in the Baku International Humanitarian Forum.
The head of state hailed the fact that the Baku International Humanitarian Forum features interesting discussions on concrete issues. Ilham Aliyev described the Baku International Humanitarian Forum as one of the unique international events which brings together the world`s scientific and political elite and fills the gaps that exist in the humanitarian area.
Azerbaijani President said that in Europe humanitarian issues are approached from the point of view of migration problem, and stressed the importance of determining and keeping the causes of these problems in focus. The head of state said the Baku International Humanitarian Forum was attractive and created good opportunities for carrying out open discussion of such issues.
President Ilham Aliyev praised Russian President Vladimir Putin's sending congratulations to the Forum participants as every year, AzerTAc reports.
They emphasized the successful development of the Azerbaijani-Russian relations in various areas, including in the fields of science and education, and said cooperation with Moscow State Institute of International Relations considerably contributed to the development of the bilateral ties.
