An imam of a town mosque has been arrested in Derbent on suspicion of illegally depriving a local woman and her child of liberty, spokesman of the Investigation Committee in the republic Rasul Temirbekov said.
"On the evening of February 9th the man brought a 27-year-old local woman and her four-year-old daughter to premises located on the territory of one of the mosques of the city. Under the threat of violence he took the keys to her apartment and three mobile phones. After being locking up the woman and the girl, the man left the premises,'' Interfax cites Temirbekov as saying.
