The electricity tariff will be increased from 1.82 som ($ 0.03) to 2.16 som ($ 0,035) per kW/h for consumers using more than 1000 kW/h per month from August 1 in Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Energy and Industry said.
According to the ministry, they had planned to increase the prices for electricity in June 2015, but the program has been revised.
President Almazbek Atambayev has proposed maintaining the existing rates for the majority of the population after rallies against the tariff increase.
