Around 20 families of Syrian refugees, whose ancestors, the Ingush, were expelled through Turkey even before the 1917 revolution, have returned to Ingushetia, the head of the republic Yunus-bek Yevkurov said.
He explained that all refugees have been educated and have a profession: they can work as doctors, computer specialists. Yevkurov added that Ingushetia agrees to help them, but it must be done within the framework of the state program.
The head of the republic specified that the region is not observing a mass arrival of refugees, as is happening in Europe. "What is happening in Europe, it can be said in one word – they got what they deserve. But we feel sorry for the refugees, feel sorry for the people who are drowning and dying on their journeys," Interfax Azerbaijan quoted Yevkurov as saying.
