Ingushetia ready for new school year

Schools of the North Caucasus Federal District are preparing for September 1st (the Day of Knowledge). Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the republic Ashab Dudurgov spoke about successes and problems of the educational sphere of Ingushetia in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza.

First of all, he informed that 119 schools, 52 kindergartens, 15 organizations of additional education and 8 colleges will operate in Ingushetia in the new academic year. "All educational institutions were approved by Rospotrebnadzor and our joint commission. We are opening three new schools right now, three more will be opened in September. By the end of the year, Ingushetia will have 17 new schools and three kindergartens," he said.

Various educational federal target programs are actively implemented in Ingushetia. "Modular sports facilities are installed in 10 schools, major repairs were carried out in 13 sports halls. Largest school in the North Caucasus Federal District is currently build in Magas. It is one of 17 schools that will be commissioned until January, and it will be a school of innovative type, with all the conditions for students, from furniture to equipment," the official noted.

Traditionally, the republic tries to attract as much young teachers as possible. "It has already become a tradition to help graduates of pedagogical universities with excellent grades: they come to Ingushetia from across the entire Russian Federation and we employ them to our schools. Ingushetia has no problems with personnel," he stressed.

The republic also helps families to prepare their children for school. "Ingushetia has 'Solidarity' fund, its initiative to help families eventually turned into a task for all officials of the republic. It was decided that all officials should help children in preparation for schools. It is being done through the fund, and sponsorship help was already provided to 526 children," Dudurgov informed.

The issue with textbooks is currently being resolved. "In previous years, we had a very big problem with textbooks. These books have cost us about 314 million rubles. This year, we provided textbooks to all children up to the 11th grade. In addition, we partially replaced outdated books for the first and fourth grades," he concluded.
