The Russian government has approved and presented a proposal to President Vladimir Putin on the termination of effect of international agreements of the Council of Europe in respect of Russia.
The relevant Cabinet resolution was posted on Friday. It was submitted to the head of state for further presentation to the State Duma, the lower house of the Russian legislative assembly.
Russia left the Council of Europe in March of this year.
