Iran and Oman have signed a $60 billion deal on gas exports to Oman. The two sides also signed an agreement on a joint study on the land section. The signing of the agreement was attended by CEO of the Iranian Gas Export Company, Alireza Kameli, and the Director General of Planning and Projects Evaluation of the Ministry of Oil and Gas of the Government of Oman, Saif bin Hamad Al Salmani.
Construction of a pipeline to carry gas to Oman was also discussed at the meeting. Iran's Pars Consulting Engineers Group will build the onshore part of the pipeline. The onshore pipeline stretches from Iran's city of Rudan for 200 kilometers to Oman’s port of Sohar.
Under this agreement, Iran should export 28 million cubic meters of gas per day to Oman for 15 years.
