Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaber Ansari in a statement slammed the US State Department’s global terrorism report which claimed Tehran was a supporter of terrorism, Fars news agency reports.
"Unlike the US, Iran has practically proved to be the most serious and effective force to confront and fight terrorism," Jaberi Ansari said in his statement on Saturday night.
He reiterated that while the US regional allies support the ISIL and other terrorist groups by using different methods, Iran is in the frontline of fighting terrorism in Iraq and Syria.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran within its principled policy has reiterated its preparedness to cooperate with other governments and nations as well as international organizations in the path of real and all-out confrontation with terrorism.
