Iran's first desalination plant launched at Bushehr NPP

Today, the country's first desalination plant was launched at the Bushehr nuclear power plant in southern Iran, Iran.ru writes.

The nuclear power plant was opened by the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami. Speaking at the ceremony, he said that its capacity is 70 thousand cubic meters per day.

According to the operator of the Bushehr NPP, the plant occupies an area of ​​9 hectares at the power plant's site, desalinates from 2.5 to 3.5 cubic meters of water from the Persian Gulf per second, in the future its daily productivity can be increased to 105 thousand cubic meters.
