The aftershocks occurred since the major earthquake rocked Kermanshah Sunday at 2:37 pm local time until 6:30 am Monday head of Kermanshah's seismographic center Farhad Norouzi said.
He said two out of the total aftershocks were of magnitudes above four. "Some 3,649 tremors have jolted the province since a fatal 7.3-magnitude earthquake hit the local city of Ezgeleh last November, killing 620 and injuring more than 12,000 people," IRNA cited Norouzi as saying.
The official said that the epicenter of all morning aftershocks were the provincial capital city of Kermanshah.
Yesterday's 5.9-magnitude earthquake damaged 951 buildings in towns and villages in western Kermanshah, and injured 287 people.
