Iran began construction of the Karun nuclear power plant in the southwestern province of Khuzestan, the media reports.
Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Mohammad Eslami inaugurated the construction operation, IRNA reports.
A 300 MW power plant with PWR type reactors will be built on the territory of 50 hectares near the Karun River.
