Iranian Permanent Representative to the UN Majid Takht-Ravanchi called the UN decision to suspend Russia's membership in the HRC politically motivated.
"Iran believes that the text of the resolution contains political motivations that undermine the impartiality of the UN", TASS quoted him.
He stressed that human rights should not be the victim of "short-sighted political considerations" and that the work of the Council should be conducted without politicization.
