Iran will build up its own missile potential, Deputy Minister of Defense Mohammad Ahadi said, adding that the number of fighters and submarines will also be increased.
According to him, the IRI's missile potential is purely "defensive" and is not a subject of discussion with the Western countries. "The increase in the number of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as the receipt of new-generation fighters, heavy and long-range ships and submarines with various weapons are part of the new plan of the ministry," Gazeta.ru quotes the Deputy Minister of Defence as saying.
