 Iran to invest 1.1 billion euro in Tabas mine development

Iranian state-run companies, in cooperation with the private sector, will invest over 1.1 billion euro in Tabas Coal Mine of South Khorasan Province by 2020, the executive director of the mine's development plan Omid Fallah said.

According to him, based on Iran's comprehensive development plan for coal mines, Tabas Coal Mine will receive 772.5 million euro for equipping the mine and implementing concentrate project as well as 117.2 million euro for development of coal washing plant.

A sum of 265.2 million euro will be invested on improving the heat treatment of coal said the official adding that 9.5 million euro will go for coke processing plant, Iran Daily reports.

Fallah noted that by launching the development project in 2020, Iran will increase its annual coal concentrate production capacity by 2.35 million tons, while 937,500 tons and 450,000 tons will be added respectively to coal washing capacity and coke production capacity.
