Iran to open seven new international airports

Seven international airports, with the capacity of receiving 400 long-distance flights each, will be constructed around Tehran by 2025, Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development, Abbas Akhoundi, said.

"Six million passengers use the Imam Khomeini International Airport every year. The next year another airport terminal with a capacity of 5 million passengers will be opened," Trend cited Akhoundi as saying.

In addition, Iran will need more than 400 civilian aircraft worth at least $20 billion in the next decade.
