Iran to receive Russian S-300 this year

Russia will supply Iran with S-300 anti-aircraft missiles this year, the number of systems is written in the previously signed contracts, a high-ranking source in the Russian Foreign Ministry stated today.

Tehran may get four divisions of modernized S-300 from Russia, instead of three, as it was in the old contract, RIA Novosti quoted a source in the Ministry of Defense of Iran.

Deliveries of S-300 to Iran are purely a bilateral arrangement, which does not require the participation of third countries, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov stated.

Moscow and Tehran have reached clarity on the supply of the S-300 to Iran, the issue has been resolved and closed, there were only technical details left to determine, the Russian president's special representative for the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov stated.
