Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh congratulated Christians on Merry Christmas. He posted the corresponding message on his Twitter page.
"While many people around the world, including our compatriots-Christians, celebrate the birthday of Jesus (peace and blessings be upon him), I wish everyone who celebrates this holiday Merry Christmas", IRNA quotes him.
Let us remind that Catholics, Protestants and most local Orthodox churches celebrate Christmas on the night of December 24-25.
