An Iranian court has allowed the relatives of Washington Post journalist Jason Rezayan, who is serving a sentence in Tehran's Evin prison for espionage, to meet with him at Christmas.
"After several attempts, Yegi (Rezayan's wife Yegane Salehi) and I were able to get permission from the court to meet with Jason for a few hours today, on Christmas Day," RIA Novosti cited an email of the prisoner's mother, Mary Rezayan, to the Washington Post newspaper.
She added that this visit was the first in the current year that the relatives of the convicted person were allowed to be with him for additional time.
