The Iranian delegation at the Syrian talks in Astana will be headed by the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, Hossein Jaberi Ansari, the Iranian Foreign ministry said.
Tehran believes the forthcoming negotiations is the possibility of a dialogue between the Syrian government and the opposition, which can put an end to the war and humanitarian crisis, the statement says.
"In recent days, Iran held a number of consultations with various parties to the conflict to pave the way for reducing differences and reaching an agreement," RIA Novosti cited the statement of the Iranian Foreign Ministry as saying.
The meeting will be held in Astana on January 23.
