The Iranian parliament has approved a disputed bill that will oblige the government to preserve “the country’s nuclear achievements and rights.” It was passed by 213 votes in an open session.
The MPs made some changes to the bill after the parliamentary speaker Ali Larijani said that the Supreme National Security Council’s viewpoints are not included in the bill, Iran’s State IRINN TV reports.
The revised text consists of three articles and two notes. It stresses the removal of all sanctions on the same day as Tehran starts implementing its commitments based on the nuclear agreement.
The IAEA would be able only to have common inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities and it would be barred from military or security sites.
According to the plan, the parliament should be informed about the outcome of the nuclear talks. Also, the Foreign Ministry would have to present a report on the possible implementation of the nuclear agreement.
Now the bill will be forwarded to Iran's Guardian Council, which will review the bill, Trend reports.
