The Azerbaijan Tourism Association (AzTa) has summarized the results of spring holiday Novruz, which was held during the last decade week of March, AzTa head Nahid Bagirov said, adding that 17,000 Iranian tourists come to Baku within the Novruz period.
"The number of tourists from Iran, compared to the same period of 2016, tripled, as during the last year’s Novruz days Baku was visited only by 4,000 tourists," abc.az cited Bagirov as saying.
He added that the number of tourists from Iran has grown as a result of increased number of flights. Earlier only Baku-Tehran flight operated between the two countries, but now flights were organized to Tehran, Mashhad, Tabriz and Shiraz as well.
