Iran's Foreign Ministry welcomed the United Nation's court's order that the United States have to lift sanctions on Iran in certain areas.
The ministry said in a statement "the decision proved once again that the Islamic Republic is right and the U.S. sanctions against people and citizens of our country are illegal and cruel.
"The United States must comply with its international commitments and lift obstacles to Iranian trade," Reuters cited the statement as saying.
"The injunction issued by the International Court of Justice showed once again that it is the U.S. government that is becoming more and more isolated due to its wrong and extremist policies and, as a result, excessive demands from other countries," the statement reads.
