Iranian President Hassan Rouhani underlined that in order for the July 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and six world powers, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), to be maintained, it is necessary that the other party fulfil all its obligations under the deal, Tasnim reports.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has lived up to all its obligations under the JCPOA and expects the other party to remain committed to its principles and fully implement its undertakings to ensures the JCPOA’s durability,” Rouhani said in a meeting with the European Union Foreign Policy Chief, Federica Mogherini, in Tehran.
The president further emphasized that the nuclear agreement between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) can serve as “a strong foundation and proper model” for developing cooperation between Tehran and the EU and resolving international issues.
He further expressed the hope that Islamic Republic and the 28-nation bloc would be able to use the existing capacities to boost cooperation in line with the interests of both sides.
