The number of Turkish servicemen to have entered the Iraqi province of Nineveh stands at around 900, the province's governor Nawfal Akub said.
"According to my information, the number of Turkish forces in the province does not exceed 900. They are staying in a people's militia camp in the village of Dad in the Shekhan district," RIA Novosti cited him as saying.
The governor added that he will discuss the situation with the Turkish ambassador to Iraq.
