The Alexandria Library plans to develop cooperation with Russian and Azerbaijani scientific institutes, the director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, co-chair of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center Ismail Serageldin said, speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza on the sidelines of the V Global Forum in Baku.
"The Bibliotheca Alexandrina has a project of cooperation with the Russian Institute. We created the World of Libraries, a remote world library system, with participation of three large Russian libraries," Ismail Serageldin said.
The Bibliotheca Alexandrina held a joint event in Egypt in January this year together with the Azerbaijani scientists. "In the future, we plan to carry out joint projects with Azerbaijani scientists on a regular basis," the library director assured.
Ismail Serageldin supported the Azerbaijani policy of multiculturalism as the basis of stability in society. "I do not like the word 'tolerance' very much, I find the word 'mutual respect' more appropriate. I am sure that peaceful means will be found for solving all conflicts. Things that seemed impossible earlier were realized thanks to peaceful means," he stressed.
"We have an agreement on climate change, an agreement on goals for sustainable socio-economic development, taking into account environmental factors, etc. Therefore, nothing is impossible for the human mind, and we can find solutions to difficult issues," the director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina concluded.
