Israel may extend declaration of state of emergency

​The Knesset Plenum approved the government's request to extend the declaration of a state of emergency in Israel until December 31, 2024.

The Joint Committee of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee and the Constitution, Law and Justice Committee recommended that the Knesset Plenum extend the declaration.

In total, 13 Knesset members supported the proposal, and 7 opposed.
 
State of emergency was declared in Israel following the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.
