Israel ready for retaliatory measures after shelling from Lebanon

Today, the Israeli Defense Ministry ordered to be ready for any response to the Lebanese shelling. On Thursday, 34 missiles were fired at Israel from Lebanon. An urgent meeting of the government is scheduled for the evening.

At a meeting on Thursday, the Israeli Defense Ministry decided to prepare for any response to rocket attacks from Lebanon.

According to a statement made by the ministry following the meeting, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant instructed the Israeli military leadership to be prepared for any response to the shelling that took place today from the territory of Lebanon.

On Thursday afternoon, the Israeli army reported that at least 34 missiles had been fired from Lebanon. Five of them fell on the territory of the state, and most of the missiles were intercepted by the air defense system.

This evening, an urgent meeting of the military-political cabinet is scheduled. A number of ministers will participate in the meeting. After the meeting, Israel will announce possible retaliatory measures.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry instructed the country's ambassadors abroad to inform the Foreign Ministries of the countries where the diplomatic missions are located about the shelling of Israel from the territory of the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, and about Israel's readiness to take "necessary measures for self-defense." The Israeli Foreign Ministry expects public condemnation of the shelling from the countries that host embassies.
