It is great to perform at the  World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling in Baku, Michail Melnik says

Russian trampoline gymnast Mikhail Melnik is looking forward to the upcoming summer competitions in Baku.

"I was very nervous and could not perform perfectly,” he said. “But the main thing is that I advanced to the finals. So, I will do my best there. I should be also ready for the synchronized competitions in the evening.”

He added that great atmosphere is in the National Gymnastics Arena.

"I visited Baku three times and liked it very much,” he said.

Miller was qualified for the World Cup finals ranking third.

The first day of the new Olympic cycle’s first World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling has kicked off at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku.

The qualifications in men’s and women’s trampoline gymnastics and tumbling take place on the first day of the competitions.

The World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling in Baku will end Feb. 19.

Eighty-five trampoline and tumbling gymnasts from 15 countries are testing their strength on the basis of the new Code of Points coming into force in 2017.

The qualifications on the first day of the competitions will be followed by finals the next day, Trend reports.

Among famous men trampoline athletes, there are Olympic Games’ gold medalist Uladzislau Hancharou (Belarus), silver medalist Dmitry Ushakov (Russia), the medalists of the World Championships Sebastien Martiny (France), Andrey Yudin (Russia), Mikhail Melnik (Russia), while among women trampoline athletes there are Tatsiana Piatrenia (Belarus) and Anna Kornetskaya (Russia).
