Jouki Tikkanen: Baku creates excellent conditions for gymnastics tournaments

The Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation organized the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup at the high level, the Finnish gymnast Jouki Tikkanen said, speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza after performing at the first day of the competition.

"Very good conditions for international tournaments have been created in Baku. I really like the gym, it's great to train here. After training they take everyone to the hotel, which is also good," she noted.

Jouki Tikkanen also thanked the people of Baku for their support. "I've already been in Baku twice - at the World Cup last year and before at the European Championships in 2014, and every time we felt great support", the Finnish gymnast admitted.

Her routine in Baku has already been showed at previous international tournaments. "We changed a lot after the Olympics in connection with the new rules, so now I have a different routine, but it is very similar to the one with which I performed in the past," Jouki Tikkanen said.

In her estimation, the gymnasts of the Azerbaijani national team are serious competitors. "Yes, the Azerbaijani girls are very strong," the Finnish gymnast pointed out.

The FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup will be held in Baku on April 28-30. Participation of 94 gymnasts from 21 countries is expected in the event, 37 of them will perform in the individual program, while 57 gymnasts will take part within the teams of group exercises.
